Craft Essay: Italo Calvino, CosmicComics, The distance of the moon.
-make note to write more fictions based off special interest.
-embellish.
-it’s an act of love you know.
-I don’t consider the ambition of the narrator enough? The why? Like a moment in time.
-what if we were sitting on a park bench or around a campfire?
-that’s certainly a layer.
-who is the narrator but where is the narrator. Like staging a monologue.
-Curious. He (Calvino) has a complete disregard for continuity. It feels like an ancient fable the way “A Trip to The Moon” is an ancient fable.
-
-I should play with making stories out of gibberish.
-The first half of the story lacks plot it’s just about describing the moon and the ocean and the boat. That’s helpful because 1. The descriptions are cool and fun and 2. I have my footing and he doesn’t have to blend it so much with the dialogue and action. There’s not so much to get confused in. 3. (The reader ((me)) doesn’t feel skimped on any yummy description)

-HAHAHAHAHAA allegory for a situation-ship ah story.
-The substack essay will be called “Italo Calvino, The Distance of The Moon, what genz can learn about navigating balance in a polycule.”
